Borehole camera and borehole video system
A borehole video survey becomes just a routine logging job for the RG Videologger2 or Micrologger2 system and no additional equipment is required other than an RG or third-party camera and VCR. The same winch and cable are used as in standard logging.
The days of costly dedicated survey trucks are gone. Exchanging borehole camera or logging winch between systems is no longer a nightmare: advanced circuitry automatically compensates to ensure the best possible picture at all times without the need for tweaks.
Borehole video data collection is controlled by
RG-VIDLOG software, a simple-to-operate application running on the logging surface unit. RG-VIDLOG functions include real-time display of video, recording, frame-grabs to file or printer, picture captions and camera control. Video data is recorded to disk in a standard MPEG video file, viewable with Windows Mediaplayer and similar software..
RG offers a 65mm pan/tilt borehole camera, a 44mm 'dual-camera' and a basic 42mm look-ahead model. The first two provide both look-ahead and sideways viewing capability. Viewing direction, camera focus and lighting intensity can all be controlled from the logging surface unit. All models include internal lighiting and range of external lighting heads is available for larger borehole diameters up to 1m.
