Buying a borehole logging system is a serious
financial decision and implies your commitment to the products
of your chosen supplier, possibly for many years.
But does
your supplier have the same long-term commitment to you?
Websites may be impressive, but what lies
behind them? A substantial company with
a longstanding
reputation for quality and technology or a tiny start-up
mixing and matching everything but the kitchen sink, mainly
from third-party suppliers? Both extremes exist, and there
are a few shades of grey inbetween.
Before deciding on a purchase, do visit
your proposed supplier if possible to inspect his facilities
at first hand. Or, at least, get some answers in writing
to some very important questions.

- If you don't manufacture everything, what
guarantees of support can you give
on the out-sourced
items?
- Do you have any contract service operation
yourself or do you rely on me, the customer, to test
your equipment?
- This equipment is on long delivery! I
suppose you have completed the design? What back-up equipment
have you off-the-shelf for me to borrow/hire in case
of an emergency?
- Do you have additional probes available
for rent? How big is your rental pool?
- Do you have any recognised independently
audited quality control such as ISO9001?
- Can you give me the names of five satisfied
customers I can contact for reference?

need for field support. RG support begins even before you
receive your borehole logging system and continues throughout
its life.
During the warranty period and afterwards,
RG is as close as your nearest phone or
e-mail. As a valued
client, you'll have access to a reserved part of our website
where you can send us logs for discussion or interpretation
advice. If the unthinkable happens and equipment breaks,
we have extensive backup equipment in several geographical
locations and an engineer to send out. Within 24 hours,
if necessary.
